Evaluation 1 :In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

This is the title of my magazine 'Amp'ed' it is a magazine aimed at the rock genre, the audience will be able to tell this as for the style of the font it is 'scratch punk' which looks very rough and rebellious which is much to do with the rock genre, other rock genre based magazines such as 'Kerrang' use a similar style of font as it is associated with rock, if my magazine was on a shelf it would be associated by the audience as the same style of music as it is a similar font which is unlike any other magazine. The word 'Amp'ed' its self can be associated with rock as a amp is used with electric guitars which is a main feature of the rock genre other magazine such as 'Kerrang' uses onomatopoeia as 'Kerrang' is the sound a guitar makes, this is one reason why i choose the name, another reason is because when i did my research my audience said that 'Amp'ed' is a good name for a rock magazine.
In my magazine i have attempted to make my models and bands look similar to band of the genre of my magazine as you can see above, on the left is the band Alexisonfire and on the right are my models they are in very similar positions as well as the location being similar and the camera angel being similar, this should hopefully attract my target audience  who listen to this type of music and they will make a connection between the 2 bands. I think my magazine clearly shows what genre it aims for through conventions such as my models and the title which look rebellious and cool.
Through out all my pictures i did not use any props however i did use different models and if i did you the same model they were wearing something different. In the picture above you can see that each model is wearing either black, white or grey and that the background is black this links to the genre as it is very dark colours and creates a rough feel to the image making the band in the picture look tough and rebellious. In each image i have used extra lighting from a stage light and handheld leds white can create extra light on the models making them stand out more and they also help reduce shadow.
The image above is my double page spread article. it includes a grab quote to draw the audience in to read the article. The article is about a band called 'HAVOC' it is about how they have been found and quickly risen to the top of the download charts as suggested by the grab quote. I have spread the article out into 3 columns this is a convention of a magazine and i have also split it into paragraphs this makes the information more easy to 'digest' for the audience so they can gain a better understanding and it also makes the text look less daunting to read than it been all in 1 big block.
The image above is of my Contents page for my magazine, the title 'Contents' is in the same font as on the front cover and the text is in red and white which is carried on from the front cover as well as the black background this shows a clear house style which links to the genre of music these colours are also present in my picture which helps them to blend with the magazine. My contents page is layout very well as on the left hand side are some features and on the right are 3 images with 2 small descriptions in all these all come together in 3 columns which is a easy layout used by many magazine such as Kerrang which are a magazine aimed at a similar genre to my magazine. The different colours of the text help indicate weather it is a subheading or a feature and this is also easy to identify as each feature has the page number beside it so that navigation is easier for the reader
